Tunica

Back in the heyday of paddle wheelers on the Mississippi, showboats and gamblers
cruised the river, entertaining the masses and providing games of chance for those who
felt lucky. In recent years, those days have returned to the Mississippi River as riverboats
and floating casinos have opened in states bordering Tennessee. You still won't find any
blackjack tables in God-fearing Tennessee, but you don't have to drive very far for a bit
of Vegas-style action. For entertainment, relaxation and fun there's few places in the
Memphis area better than Tunica. With nine casinos, several golf courses and spas, live
entertainment every night, a river park, a historical village, fifty restaurants and, lest we
forget, 24 hour gambling Tunica is a place that literally has something for everyone. Its
proximity to Memphis makes it an ideal base for touring the city and the surrounding
area, and when traveling gets too exhausting hit one of the casinos, or get a massage, or
learn the history of Tunica and it's native peoples. You can even get some musical
history here, at the Bluesville/Blues and Legends Hall of Fame Museum, a combination
museum and nightclub.
